IE is getting there

When you go back in time when Microsoft released IE 6.0 - 5 years ago - I was really disappointed in the browser that I said that the only reason to upgrade to it was that it was free.

But now that Microsoft released its new breed of browser - IE 7 - I think they “almost” got it right this time. During my use, I found that IE 7 to be a major upgrade over recent versions of IE - and one that finally adds many of the features and capabilities that Web users have come to expect from current-generation of browsers such as Firefox and Opera.

However, I still won’t call it the perfect browser. IE 7 “catches up” with now-common browser fearures, such as tabbed windows. In addition, it is much more secure by default. In my opinion, the biggest weakness in IE 7 - that it only runs on Windows system (like other Microsoft products).

I found the new interaface to be very intuitive and clean, but those who want to have the familiar menus can choose the classic option from the tools menu.

Cost Analysis: IE 7 is free to download. However, you will need Windows XP SP 2.
